Summer Fun at the Library (and all over Spokane!)

Looking for a place to cool off during this latest heat wave? We have the answers for you! All six of the libraries are air conditioned, have great collections of books, computers to use, and Wi-Fi if you would prefer to bring your own device.

You can also learn something while you’re here about Great Family Hikes in the area on Monday, July 14 at 6:30 pm at the Shadle Branch, how to make Jams and Jellies at the East Side branch on Tuesday, July 15 at 6 pm, or maybe even visit the Discover Earth Exhibit at the Downtown Library through the end of August.

Our sister department Spokane Parks and Recreation is offering more ways to keep cool outside with expanded hours at the Comstock, Hillyard, A.M. Cannon, Liberty, and Shadle pools. Swimming is a great way to keep cool with the temperatures heading into triple digits.

Pool hours at these locations will be extended to include swim time from 4-6 pm this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 11, 12, 13 and next Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, July 18, 19, and 20. Don’t forget that the splash pads are open throughout Spokane as well. Just don’t forget to dry off before you sit down with your library books.
