chof-promoGreat citizens don’t just happen. Our community must support and grow great citizenry. For the second year in a row, the Library, in partnership with the City of Spokane and the Spokane Public Library Foundation, is working to support that growth.

This is your chance to recognize and honor someone in Spokane who you know has done great things for the community!

We are extending nominations until February 9. Learn more about Spokane’s Citizen Hall of Fame →

Art + Philanthropy

Salik_SevilleFebruary’s art show combines philanthropy and art in a unique way. The show will feature a variety of work since there will be five artists showing. The artists are: Salik Seville, Sage Cabellaro, Robert Lloyd, Denise Robinson and MaeLu Myers. Like most art shows the works are for sale but, unlike most shows, the currency in play is not cash. The artists are “selling” their works in exchange for donations to the following organizations:MaeLu_Myers

  • Lutheran Community Services
  • Second Harvest Food Bank
  • House of Charity
  • Volunteers of America
  • Healthcare for Homeless Veterans

Please stop by the Downtown Library gallery (street level) to check out the beautiful artwork and, perhaps, support our community by “purchasing” a piece.
