Mangis has lived in Spokane for over 25 years. As a child, she spent a lot of time drawing, coloring and entering contests for fun. “I loved to read and draw my favorite book characters, like Mary Poppins and Amelia Bedelia.” She graduated from WSU with a B.A. in Interior Design, but after several years in the field, she realized her mind never wanted to leave the conceptual and artistic stage of design. Now she works in the library among her favorite characters and she paints in her spare time, the best of both worlds! “My paintings reflect the places in the Northwest I have visited with my family and the activities we enjoy doing together, including hiking, biking and camping.”
